Volunteerism and philanthropy are woven into in our business and company culture, and we strive to be active members in the communities where our employees live and work. We believe at the end of the day our success is measured not just by our bottom line, but by our role as responsible corporate citizens. At Tesoro, our community investment efforts focus on Education, Environment and Community Vitality. Our mission is to build strategic partnerships with the communities where we operate.

We encourage all of our employees to give the gift of both time and money to their communities. Team Tesoro volunteers dedicate thousands of hours each year to benefit worthwhile causes in individual communities around the country. This includes active participation in local United Way organizations, where employee campaigns are held in multiple markets, and the company generously matches employee contributions with one dollar for every dollar donated.  Tesoro employees also work as role models for other companies and individuals.

Our philanthropic efforts are diverse. We work with our refineries to develop local  contributions  to support programs and projects focused on the environment, education and improving the quality of life for  people  in the communities where Tesoro operates.
